Student Life Week

This is a week filled with mission activity, bringing youth mission teams from across the United States to help with 3 intense days of mission involvement. Sponsored by Lifeway, Student Life Week encourages youth teams to travel to Wake Forest University, where they board and enter into Christian fellowship with other youth groups. Each youth mission group is assigned projects across the Winston-Salem area. They arrive at their mission site by 10 AM each morning and end their day by 4 PM. Wake Forest packs their lunches. They brought most of their tools if they were doing landscaping work. They planned and brought the materials to do a VBS/Backyard Bible Club; just expecting the local congregation to do prior canvassing and inviting of their community children.

Last year we had several churches to engage in this week’s mission extravaganza. Those churches were: Iglesia Bautista de Union Cross, Crestwood Baptist Church, North Winston Baptist Church, Old Town Baptist Church, Southside Baptist Church, and Waughtown Baptist Church. We also had several youth to assist from various churches with some association-wide projects.
These youth groups especially enjoy Sports Camps, Backyard Bible Clubs/VBS and yardwork or housework for the elderly and disabled. Regrettably, they cannot travel beyond the Winston-Salem area due to their time frame to work.
