Our annual Missions Blast is a mobilization of PMBA churches during the month of August to make a significant impact in their communities by serving to address local, perceived needs.
This is implemented in various ways:
- Churches engage the community through previously established networks of ministry through which they were already serving to strengthen those relationships.
- Churches explore new relationships with organizations or needs in the community to establish relationships and continue serving throughout the year.
- Churches partner with other churches who already have healthy relationships with local organizations to accomplish a greater impact through collaboration. Also considering how they might continue such throughout the year.
While there are many venues in the community for service, we are primarily encouraging partnerships with local elementary schools as a good starting point for churches who may not already be engaged. A second tier of emphasis would be inner city engagement through established ministries such as Joe Maye at Rise Church and David Parsons, NAMB Multi-housing Ministry. There are also many other ministries doing great work to impact poverty near our churches who would welcome volunteers.
In the course of this Missions Blast, other organizations will also conduct missional efforts and we would encourage collaboration with them as well. Ministries such as Love Out Loud have many resources and connections established for their efforts with the "Crash the Dash" event.
Additional links are provided below for consideration. It is our pleasure to walk with PMBA churches if there is any way that we can help to connect the dots toward becoming a missional church in the community. Be sure to contact Craig Clayton if there is anything that we can do!
