Redwine Missionary House is located at 202 Wicklow Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The Redwine Missionary House is owned by the NC Baptist Foundation and maintained by the Woman'sMissionary Union's Leadership Team of the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association. This house provides a place for missionaries to live while on furlough and for pastors of new church starts who are seeking to relocate in our area. Contact Joyce Love (765-2542) if you would like to reserve the Missionary House for a missionary for a specific time period.
Listed below are several ways in which a Mission Group can help keep this house in good condition:
Clean windows each spring
Clean house between tenants
Purchase and change furnace filters each quarter for one year.
Yard maintenance (moving when the house is not occupied, planting flowers and bulbs, pruning shrubbery, raking and bagging leaves in the fall, spreading mulch and pine needles.
Provide a house warming for the new missionaries or new pastor and his family upon their arrival. Take a meal; provide flowers, gift baskets, etc.
Throw a shower for the Missionary House. It has been over 15 years since we have replaced the linens, kitchen items, and bathroom items.
Donate good, quality furniture (to replace some of the older pieces of furniture that has much wear and tear). Items needed: 1 queen size bedroom suit with box springs & mattress; nice patio furniture; 3 room size (9x12) area rugs for 3 bedrooms (neutral colors if possible).
When the Redwine Missionary House is not needed by missionaries, the house can be used by a mission team coming into the area to work with a congregation or for a new pastor in transition (to give him and his family time to find the right house, etc.). If you need to reserve the house, please contact Joyce Love (765-2542) to see if it is available.
Charges for the use of the house: No rent is charged for the use of the house. There is a one time user's fee of $500 when missionaries/pastors reserve the house for one year or longer. If the house is only need for 2 - 6 months, the fee is $250. The occupants are responsible for taking care of the property, leaving it in good condition, and paying for utilities. If you would like to use the house for one week for a mission team there is a $25 user's fee. All fees are used to help with the general maintenance of the building and grounds. Contact Joyce Love (765-2542) or Karen Taylor (759-7622) for more information.
